Our Mission
Wave Wind is committed to supporting the development of a clean, renewable future powered by wind energy. We pursue this mission by helping customers, including small and mid-sized wind project developers, identify and execute solutions to the many challenges inherent to the wind energy industry.
Our History
Wave Wind was founded by Tim Laughlin and Robert Heinemann, two wind energy and construction industry veterans who both recognized the potential for wind energy to drive the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy. With 40 years of project experience between them, they also recognized the many challenges the wind energy industry needed to overcome to fulfill its potential, and how Wave Wind could help.
Laughlin, a wind energy industry veteran with a background in steel, heavy crane, and wind turbine construction, recognized a gap between the construction and maintenance services available for large wind projects and those available for the small and mid-sized projects that were likely to proliferate as interest in wind energy grew. He also recognized the need for material handling services that could guarantee the safe, on-time delivery of wind turbine components along an increasingly tight and complex supply chain.
Heinemann, a construction industry veteran and the owner of a successful television, radio, and wireless tower construction firm, anticipated the challenges wind project developers and service providers were going to face as demand for specialized construction expertise and equipment exceeded supply. Having already accumulated significant quantities of both, he recognized an opportunity to provide his expertise and equipment to the small and mid-sized wind projects that would require them the most.
Today, Wave Wind is a leading wind energy service provider that supports the planning, development, and maintenance of small to mid-sized wind projects. We provide a full range of wind project services—from project planning and material handling to wind turbine construction and maintenance—that offer our customers unique solutions to the many complex challenges inherent to the wind energy industry.
A transition from fossil fuel to renewable energy simply makes sense: for the environment, for the economy, and for our customers. We believe the future is renewable, and we are committed to supporting the transition to it.
